Week 14 Predictions

Game to Watch: Seahawks @ 49ers: The Seattle Seahawks are undisputedly the number on team in all of football. Their win over the New Orleans Saints by a score of 34-7 on Monday Night Football showed that this team is in a league of their own. Especially when they are playing at home. This Sunday, the Seahawks will go on the road to play San Francisco in CandleStick Park. The 49ers have not quite lived up to expectations so far in 2013, especially their starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers are 8-5 this season, currently the 6th seed if the season ended today. But with teams like Philadelphia and Arizona not too far behind, it is key for San Francisco to beat their division rival at home on Sunday. The last time these two teams played, Seattle absolutely annihilated Harbaugh and the Niners. This Sunday won't be any different.
Seattle over 49ers 23-13

Stand Out Performance: WR Calvin Johnson: As of Week 13, Calvin Johnson has eclipsed the 100 yard receiving mark 7 times this season, and in one of those games, Megatron caught 14 passes for 329 yards. Calvin Johnson has made a name for himself as the best wide receiver in the league, and as Detroit squares off Philadelphia on Sunday, Johnson is projected for yet another big day. In his past three games, Megatron has caught 19 passes for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns, while the Eagles defense against wide receivers ranks dead last in the NFL. Fantasy football owners, make sure to start Megatron for as the fantasy football playoffs start this Sunday.
WR Calvin Johnson: 125 receiving yards, 2 TDs

Player to Watch: QB Geno Smith: At the start of November, it appeared that the New York was a legitimate threat to nab a spot in the playoffs in 2013; however, all playoff hopes have been dashed as a result of poor play by their starting quarterback, Geno Smith. Smith started the year with 7 touchdowns in his first 5 games, but since Week 5, Geno has passed for just 1 touchdown with a whopping 11 touchdowns. On the year, Smith's passer rating stands at 60.4, and it is surprising that New York has not benched their quarterback. Sunday's game will be a decisive game for Geno Smith, where yet another poor performance will surely have him sitting on the bench for the rest of the season.
QB Geno Smith: 185 passing yards, 1 rushing TD, INT

Start 'Em, Sit 'Em (Week 8)

Start 'Em:
Fred Jackson, RB, Buffalo Bills
Fred Jackson has dominated the Bill's backfield despite having to share carries with C.J. Spiller all season.  Now, imagine the game that Jackson could have with Spiller completely out of the picture.  Though he did have an injury scare last week, Jackson is second to none when it comes to toughness.  Expect Jackson to get into the end zone at least once against a poor Saints defense.

Terrance Williams, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Having solidified his spot as Tony Romo's second favorite wide receiver, Williams should be worthy of a flex spot in your team this week with a good matchup against the Detroit Lions.  In a game that is destined to be a shootout, Williams will receive more than enough passes to have a significant fantasy game.

Michael Vick, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
If Vick is able to go this week (which seems likely), he should have a field day against the Giant's weak secondary.  The giants defense has allowed the third most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year, and many of those games came against quarterbacks with a lower pedigree than Vick (see Alex Smith and Nick Foles).  Though his run game will likely be limited this week, Vick has the arm to put up great numbers nonetheless.

Sit 'Em:
Steven Jackson, RB, Atlanta Falcons
If you are a Steven Jackson owner, you're probably thrilled to insert him into your lineup after being injured for the last four weeks, but not so fast.  First off, Jackson is going up against a tough Arizona run defense that has allowed the sixth fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs.  Also, Jacquizz Rodgers has performed admirably in Jackson's absence, especially in the passing game.  Rodgers should be on the field for nearly every passing down which will certainly work to limit the effect that Steven Jackson could have on this game.  Lastly, you have to remember that Jackson is an old-ish running back and the Falcons will probably look to ease him back into the offense after his injury.  When taking all of this into consideration, it is clear that Jackson should not be in your lineup this week.

Geno Smith, QB, New York Jets
Smith has been very inconsistent this year, but recently he has been much improved from his horrid start.  Last week against a decent Patriot's defense, Smith had a very good game, but the Pat's mediocre pass rush is nothing compared to what the Bengals have up front.  Carlos Dunlap, Geno Atkins, James Harrison, and Vontaze Burfict will put pressure on Smith all game long and will likely take him out of his comfort zone.  Unless you are in a two quarterback league, leave Smith on your bench this week.

Harry Douglas, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Douglas seems like a good fantasy start this week, coming off of a huge game and being Matt Ryan's favorite target (now that White and Jones are injured).  However, Douglas will be blanketed by Arizona's Patrick Peterson and the Falcons will likely be playing run-out-the-clock for much of the second half.  Don't be fooled by Douglas' breakout week 7, as he should be falling back to earth in week 8.

2013 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Combine

1. Kansas City Chiefs: OT Luke Joeckel: With Alex Smith expected to be traded to Kansas City, the Chiefs no longer need to draft Geno Smith in order to fill the gap at quarterback. New head coach Andy Reid has said he will draft the best player on the board, which is why Luke Joeckel will be selected first overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars: DE Bjoern Warner: Jacksonville's new logo may be the start of a brand new franchise, so drafting Bjoern Warner has the potential to solve the problem on defense. The Jaguars ranked dead last in sacks last season, allowing the opposing team's quarterback to feel comfortable in the pocket. Jacksonville has many other options at defensive end, but Warner is capable of fixing the problem long term.

3. Oakland Raiders: QB Geno Smith: Even though Carson Palmer had a successful 2012 season statistically, the Oakland Raiders appear to be interested in drafting Geno Smith. Originally, Smith was the favorite to be drafted first overall, but now that Kansas City is in the process of acquiring Alex Smith, Geno will fall to number 3 in the draft.

4. Philadelphia Eagles: OLB Dion Jordan: At 6'6" and 250 pounds, Jordan has extraordinary speed that will improve Philadelphia's sack problem. The Eagles ranked 25th overall in terms of sacks, and former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly would be more than thrilled to draft one of his former players.

5. Detroit Lions: CB Dee Milliner: Milliner's incredible 40 yard dash time of 4.37 seconds has increased his draft stock exponentially. Detroit is in desperate need of a shut down corner if the Lions lose Chris Houston and Jacob Lacey via free agency.

6. Cleveland Browns: DE Barkevious Mingo: A corner back would be nice at the sixth spot in the draft, but because we expect Milliner to be drafted by Detroit, the Browns may have to settle with a defensive end. Barkevious Mingo, unlike DE Demontre Moore, maintained his high draft stock after a good showing at the combine. The better move for Cleveland would be to trade down and wait for a draft class with more depth, but if they were to keep their sixth overall pick, Cleveland will draft Mingo in order to improve their mediocre defense.

7. Arizona Cardinals: QB Matt Barkley: Offensive lineman Eric Fisher appears to be the more appropriate pick for Arizona, but many experts believe the Cardinals will take Matt Barkley in the first round. Barkley did not play any games toward the end of the 2012 season at USC due to an injury. This same injury kept him from participating the 2013 NFL combine. Even then, Arizona likes their chances with Barkley as their new quarterback in September.

8. Buffalo Bills: WR Cordarelle Patterson: Patterson is one of the most talented offensive players in this year's draft class. At 6'2", the former Tennessee Volunteer resembles NFL star wide receiver Julio Jones, with size, speed, and spectacular hands. Whomever the Bills select at quarterback (via free agency or draft), he will have a second option apart from Stevie Johnson.

9. New York Jets: OLB Ezekiel Ansah: Historically, Rex Ryan loves those players who dumbfounded scouts at the NFL combine. Last weekend, Ezekiel Ansah ran the 40 yard dash in 4.60 seconds. Considering the BYU linebacker is 6'5" and 270 pounds, his insane athleticism is bound to catch the eye of Rex Ryan, whose New York Jets could use an upgrade on the defensive side of the ball.

10. Tennessee Titans: OG Chance Warmack: While at Alabama, Chance Warmack successfully cleared the lane for running backs Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and Eddie Lacey. Warmack's size can overpower most defensive ends, and the Titans will look to rush their star running back Chris Johnson a lot more in 2013.

2013 NFL Mock Draft 3.0: Picks 1-10

Our final mock draft before the NFL combine! Be sure to comment, subscribe, or like us on Facebook at facebook.com/thenflreport! Also, subscribe to us on YouTube, where we create monthly highlight videos for some of the most exciting NFL players! Lastly, send us your mock drafts at ledzepfan09@gmail.com!

1. Kansas City Chiefs: QB Geno Smith: The only two players fighting for the number one spot in the draft is Smith and offensive lineman Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M. Kansas City is looking to rebuild their franchise, and new head coach Andy Reid already knows how to build a game plan around a mobile quarterback. Geno Smith will likely solidify his spot as number one after the combine.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars: DE Bjoern Warner: The Jaguars ranked dead last in sacks last season, and there are not many noteworthy free agents at the defensive end position. Bjoern Warner has decided to enter the 2013 NFL Draft, and has been compared to Chris Long for his consistent and well rounded attributes. Warner may be the long term solution for the Jacksonville Jaguars' pass rush.

Ryan Nassib
3. Oakland Raiders: DT Star Lotulelei: The Oakland Raiders may lose both Richard Seymour and Desmond Bryant to free agency, so drafting defensive tackle Star Lotulelei would make a lot of sense. Lotuelei is very well rounded, providing solutions for Oakland's pass rush and run blocking.

4. Philadelphia Eagles: OT Luke Joeckel: Since Chip Kelly will likely stick with Michael Vick at quarterback, it is time the Eagles draft someone who has the ability to protect him. Luke Joeckel has the potential to be selected first overall, and hopefully, Joeckel can reduce the 48 sacks allowed by Philadelphia's offensive line in 2012.

5. Detroit Lions: DE Demontre Moore: Most would agree that Detroit is in desperate need of a pass rusher with Cliff Avril and Kyle Vanden Bosch both unlikely to return in 2013. Demontre Moore is the best pass rusher left on the board, and should be able to replace Avril on the defensive line.

6. Cleveland Browns: LB Jarvis Jones: Jarvis Jones' statistics while at Georgia turned many heads, and his 14.5 sacks would surely help Cleveland's defense. Its is unlikely the Browns will attempt to draft yet another quarterback with their first round pick, so it is time for them to strengthen a mediocre defense.

7. Arizona Cardinals: OT Eric Fisher: Even though Arizona's quarterback problem needs to be solved, so does the horrendous offensive line, a group who allowed 58 sacks in 2013, the most out of any team. Eric Fisher deserves to be taken over a quarterback like Matt Barkley or Tyler Wilson, where Arizona can shop for a quarterback in free agency.

8. Buffalo Bills: QB Ryan Nassib: I remain a firm believer that Ryan Nassib, a quarterback from Syracuse, will be drafted by the Buffalo Bills. Seven coaches who currently work for the Buffalo Bills at one point in their career worked at Syracuse. Former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is out of the picture, and Nassib will be his replacement in 2013.

9. New York Jets: DE Dion Jordan: Rex Ryan loves drafting defensive players, and New York's defense remains weak at certain positions. Dion Jordan is a vicious tackler, and does not give up easily on the ball. Jordan is a potential pro-bowler, and I firmly believe Jordan's draft stock will only rise after the combine.

10. Tennessee Titans: DE Barkevious Mingo: Along with Mingo, many draft experts believe guard Chance Warmack will be taken tenth overall by the Tennessee Titans. Mingo could potentially be selected as high as number two overall, but as he falls to number ten, the Titans will eagerly pair him up with Derrick Morgan to form a powerful defensive line.
